I think most offices has one of these guys and usually he is not giving useful or interesting information. My office has one, a man who ALWAYS has something to say about SOMETHING. Many an employee has become entangled in the vortex of useless chatter that swirls around his workstation on the way past him. He reinvents the job on a daily basis and seems to have an idea that will make things so much more efficient. That is untill  closer inspection reveals the suggestions almost always lead to gross inefficincy and in some cases even risk bodily harm! He is a man who is always in search of something to get involved in and when he gets involved it can become disaterous.

Take for example the day a transport driver pulled up to our loading dock. Now in the PS’s defence I have never met a truck driver who would alow someone to drive his or her truck empty much less with a clients load in it. In any event the driver was having trouble negotiating the straight backup of his rig to the loading dock. Out of nowhere appears the PS offering his services to assist the driver of the rig. He offers to back the 18 wheeler up to the loading dock and assist his fellow truck driver. Judging from the fact the Rig had atleast made it from its origins to our office suggest the driver made a string of good decisions that day. This was likely one of his worst up to this point for him. The PS jumps in and attempts to put the Rig in Gear. After a few seconds of grinding gears and violent lurches the driver orders the PS out of his truck. It is at this point we discover why the PS was so willing to help. He used to drive buses!

So here we are on a rainy and dank Thursday afternoon and in an effort take initiative draw some positive attention from “management” the PS has turned his attention to the very few chemicals onsite (IT Company). Today the PS has decided to ignore any safety regulations and pour left over hazerdous materials from a large drum into a smaller windsheild washer container. Why? I am not sure even after his explanation.  Growing up I often heard my parents utter the saying “god protects fools and babes”. This could explain the PS’s tendency to continue to live as he walks through a life that can best be described as one long final destination sequal. Rather than become annoyed as so many seem to be, I for one am amused. Ok not anymore sine here he comes to bore and frustrate me with one of his epic “quick questions”.
